How often should electrical panels be inspected for safety?

Electrical panels should be inspected at least once a year during a home electrical safety inspection. Harrison Electric includes a panel check with its annual Safety & Savings Plan inspection. We verify breaker operation, labels, and amperage, and tighten panel terminations. We also test GFCI/AFCI protection, confirm grounding, and assess surge protection and outdoor systems for Minneapolis homes.

Quick checks between visits:

  • Frequent breaker trips
  • Burning smell or heat at the panel
  • Buzzing or visible corrosion
